The bound book that gives your content its true value

Novel, photo book, art catalogue, company book, dissertation or thesis: the rigid (case bound) cover turns your pages into a genuine published object — solid, elegant, made to last and to be given. The interior is printed in full colour 4/4 on the paper of your choice, from 48 to 400 pages, and the customised hard cover wraps it all — spine included.

Two processes to choose from in the configurator: digital printing, from a single copy (A4 or A5 portrait), perfect for self-published authors, proof copies and short runs; and offset printing, from 25 up to 2,000 copies (A4, A5 portrait or landscape, A6 portrait), with an unbeatable unit cost at higher volumes.

Page count

48 to 400 inner pages (in multiples of 4), rigid cover in addition.

Inner papers

90 gsm matt coated, 130/170 gsm matt or gloss coated (some FSC®), offset 90/100/120 gsm.

Production

6 working days as standard, digital or offset, delivery date shown before you order.

Who is hardback book printing for?

Self-published authors: publish your novel or collection without depending on a publisher, ordering exactly the quantity you need — one proof copy today, fifty for your launch tomorrow. Businesses: annual report, anniversary book, prestige catalogue or brand book — case binding instantly conveys credibility. Associations and local authorities: centenary book, collection of testimonies, heritage publication.

Photographers and artists: 130 or 170 gsm coated papers and landscape formats (offset) showcase your images full page, with the sharpness of a bookshop-quality art book. Students and researchers: a hardbound dissertation or thesis makes a strong impression on an examining panel — and lasts a lifetime. For a tighter budget or a shorter page count, compare with our saddle-stitched or perfect bound brochures.

Digital printing or offset printing?

Both processes produce the same finished object — rigid cover, full-colour 4/4 interior, same papers, same 6-working-day turnaround. The difference comes down to quantity: digital prints without set-up costs, hence from a single copy; offset requires make-ready but becomes markedly cheaper as the copies add up.

In practice: up to around twenty copies, choose digital; from 25, compare both tabs in the configurator — offset almost always wins, and the gap widens at every quantity tier.

Preparing your book file

Supply a PDF in CMYK, images at 300 dpi, with 3 mm bleed on every page and important elements at least 5 mm from the trim edge. Export the interior as consecutive single pages (never spreads or facing pages), with a page count in multiples of 4 — from 48 to 400 pages.

The cover is prepared flat, as a single visual: back cover + spine + front cover. The spine width is calculated from the page count and the weight of the inner paper: tell us your configuration and we will give you the exact measurement before layout. A technical check of your file is included with every order, and our printing guide walks you step by step through preparing a bound book.

Publishing-grade quality, page after page

The interior is printed in full colour 4/4: text, photos and illustrations in colour on every page. As for papers, choose to suit your content: 90 gsm matt coated for text-led books with a soft feel, 130 or 170 gsm coated, matt or gloss — several references FSC® certified from responsibly managed forests — for photo books and catalogues, or offset papers 90, 100 or 120 gsm, uncoated, for a natural finish that is easy on the eyes over long reading sessions.

The rigid case cover, printed in your colours, protects the page block for the long term and gives the book that in-hand presence only a bound volume delivers. Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to print a hardback book?+
The price depends on the process, size, page count, inner paper and quantity. With digital, an A5 book starts at €32.97 ex. VAT for a single copy; with offset, runs of 25 to 2,000 copies start at €761.94 ex. VAT, with a unit cost that falls sharply at higher volumes. The configurator shows the exact price before you order.
Can I print just one copy of my book?+
Yes. Digital printing lets you order from a single copy, in A4 or A5 portrait: ideal for a proof copy, a one-off gift, a dissertation or a self-published author's first run. From 25 copies, offset quickly becomes more cost-effective.
How many pages can my book contain?+
From 48 to 400 inner pages, always in multiples of 4. The rigid cover is in addition to this page count: its spine is calculated from the number of pages and the weight of the inner paper chosen.
Which book sizes are available?+
Digital (from 1 copy): A4 portrait (21 × 29.7 cm) and A5 portrait (14.8 × 21 cm). Offset (from 25 copies): A4 portrait, A4 landscape, A5 portrait, A5 landscape and A6 portrait — landscape sizes suit photo books particularly well.
How do I prepare my book file?+
CMYK PDF, 300 dpi, 3 mm bleed, consecutive single pages in multiples of 4. The cover is prepared flat (back cover + spine + front cover); the spine width depends on the page count and paper — we give you the exact measurement, and the file check is free.
What is the production time?+
6 working days of standard production, digital or offset, plus shipping. The estimated delivery date is shown in the configurator before you order.
